The building is accessible to the many people who have difficulty climbing steps or who use walkers or wheelchairs.
The library is equipped with a large-screen computer workstation with enlarging capabilities for the visually handicapped, a wheelchair accessible adjustable computer worktable, and a TTY (text telephone) machine for communication with the hearing impaired.
Large Print and Audio Books:
This is a large, growing collection of fiction and nonfiction titles; additional titles may be borrowed through the Chester County Library System.
Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped:
This service is Federally funded and free to anyone who is unable to read ordinary materials due to either a visual or physical condition. Books and magazines in large print or on tape are sent to the individual's home and can be returned in any U.S. mailbox free of charge. Special equipment for listening to the "talking books" is included. Applications are available at the Oxford Public Library and can be signed by the Librarian.
Besides offering services, the library is also a place where YOU can be of service to the community. Volunteers are needed at all times of day for a variety of tasks. To volunteer, complete an application form and return it to the library. We need YOU!
